Default Update on 4 piston Brake package

In the interest for those that have asked:

4 piston brake package

The front custom Steel lines for the Wilwood calipers have been made and testing will commence late next week for fit, flex and pressure. These are 2 inches longer than other SS lines to counter fitment issues that some have expressed . Plus these are specifically designed for this package.

The pads of choice are Hawk HPS pads.

Benefits of HPS's:
Very low noise
Virtually no dust
Good Cold stopping
Great Hot stops

Caliper of choice is Wilwood Billet Dynalite

Reasons:
1) Will clear stock wheel offset. 17" and hopefully 16" (will test and confirm)
2) Over 16 different pads compounds available for this caliper. From street to all out track.
3) Only 2.5 lbs vs over 10 lbs. for stock calipers
4) Very strong

Work is being conducted on the custom caliper bracket.
Areas:
Material
Size
Weight
Strength
Heat
Cost.

Real world testing of the entire package should begin in 2-3 weeks to check for stress, flex, braking, clearance, heat, and any other issues that may crop up.

Price should be well below the $950.00 target range.

Work has also began on the brake cooling package for the GS series.
This includes ducting, hose, and rotor backing plates. All custom for the GS. ETA is 2 months for this.

I'm keeping my fabricator/engineer busy on this stuff so please be patient.

This is just an update. No Group buy is proposed or announced as of yet so please hold off on any discussion on purchasing.
Thank you

For the custom bracket, I hope you err on the side of strength rather than weight. Afterall, brakes can be considered safety items. From mountain biking, I've seen lots of "stupid light" components fail with potentially tragic results.

If it's good enough for NASCAR, it's good enough for GS.

"If it's good enough for NASCAR, it's good enough for GS."

"Work is being conducted on the custom caliper bracket."

RA, I was referring only to the custom bracket. And the problem with NASCAR is they only turn one way.

Default Rest assured

Hello RedGS4,

The bracket and all components is/will/are designed with safety in mind. As mentioned above, safety is of utmost importance, especially in a brake system so I understand your post.
The first kit is going on my car ,a friends, and then a couple of others here on CL.
Currently there are no plans to sell this kit to anyone else at the moment. This may change in the future.
Same with the GS brake cooling kit.

Thank you,
Lee
