Front swaybar endlinks cause pop?
The damnedest thing happened, I noticed my front end link for my sway bar was about to unscrew itself all the way from the LCA, so I tightened to down, and now the car makes a popping sound like non damn stop when going over bumps or when the suspension compresses from the front of the car. I saw the thread about re-torquing the sub frame to 90ftlbs but that didn't make a difference on it. Do the end links wear out and cause this, or would worn sway bar bushings cause this?
Checked:
Ball joints - good
Tie Rods- good/replaced 1 with new unit
LCA Bushings- good

I'd put money it's your lower control arms (the ball joints.. one side or both)
Careful, cause they WILL pop out when they get bad enough and your whole wheel WILL turn up (like the DeLorean in Back to the Future, but facing up lol) AMHIK...

Ok so i'm finally going to replace my front sway bar links. i'll be done later today and i'll posts any changes. i got a pair of CTR sway bar links. they seem to be the best available ones. they are the only ones that have a nut on the inside of the bolt so that its easier to take off. The OEM ones you have to use a vise grip plier to hold it on one side especially if its rusted like mine. lol. i guess 16 years of being on the car does that to it. lol.

You don't have to hold them with a vice. They have a spot for an Allen wrench then use a ratcheting 14/15mm wrench and crank away while holding the wrench.
Sway bar bushings can cause a thud / flutter

yeah i know but the vise just works so much better. and these suckers are so worn out. lol. and on top of that its easier to use a ratchet and vise vice nonratcheting wrench and holding a tiny allen.
well the end result was a good one. after replacing both sway bar links all the dumb sounds of clunk and clank went away... well in the front only. now i hear some of them in the back. not as bad as the front but still in need of replacing. i went and had some fun with the fam so i wouldn't get in trouble for spending all morning at sears looking for new tools and at my car having fun. so i will post pics tomorrow.
