Default squeal replacing brake pads

I'm having some squeal issues with my is350. I've just replaced the front and rear pads. The squeal is really bad when its cold. I only hear it when I lightly press on the brake coming to a stop.

The rear pads i've replaced, has new shims. The front pads, I've reused the old shims. I've also applied the grease on the shims on the brake pads.

Should I just take off the front shims? Or do i have to resurface my rotors? Its been about two weeks and the squeal can still be heard.

You should have had the rotors resurfaced before putting on the new brake pads. Not sure if that's the cause of the squeals but, you'll definitely be eating up the pads faster by putting them on rotors that weren't resurfaced. I think it's pretty common to hear a bit of squeal on new pads too. Maybe give it a few hundred miles. Someone chime in on this?

Resurfacing is not gonna make the squeal. I would see about applying more grease to the shims. What type of pads since some are none to squeal. Could possibly be a build up of brake dust but most likely not.

all the pads are all oem. Don't think its the brake dust. I've had brake dust before on the old pads and it never made any squeal. Maybe i should give it about couple more weeks?

I used to have the same problem, I cured it by lubbing all moving brake parts. With of course brake grease worked like a charm, still no noise after months.

i have this issue and the car only has 3500 miles. its mostly the front passenger. i notice it only right after start-up, then is seems to go away. (or the noise is just reverberated through my parking garage, bc i def notice it when i start-up and pull out)

could this just be brake dust that collects overnight? its def not from cold weather, its 65 in the mornings.

Unless there was something wrong with the rotors then the only thing resurfacing them does is waste useful metal that could otherwise be used for braking.
