Default Ball joint boot replacment that works!

I can grab some pictures this weekend of how they fit, but I needed new ball joint boots for my lower control arms. I did some measuring and Energy Suspension #13009 worked great. They would also work just fine on the UCA's too. They DO NOT have the band around the bottom, but the spindle compresses the boot so this isnt a problem.

Just wanted to post this for anyone else who needs just boots.

I think I paid like $7.00 shipped for a pair.

EDIT Pictures:

I'm going out to the shop tomorrow, I'll get pics then.

I didn't use a CL vendor, but I'm guessing any that deal in Energy Suspension can help. I went with a company online I'd bought from quite a few times. I don't want to get in trouble for listing the site though

I added pics to the original post of how the Energy Suspension #13009 looks installed. As you can see the spindle compresses it down over the lip real nice. Note that those pictures are at "full droop" too, so the fitment only gets better as the suspenion is in its normal range of motion.

Like many of you, my bushing were shot... but the ball joints were just fine. I looked through the help section, and even got the parts guys to let me go through their ball joints and couldnt find a boot that worked real well until I found these. Paying Toyota $400+ for a couple LCA's just because the boots are shot is assinine. $7.00 is more like it.

The people who designed the Soarer/Supra really should've talked to other Toyota development teams around the same period I loved how the ball joints just unbolted on my MR2, but I digress.

FYI here are the measurements I took:

BJ boot lip 43.6mm
Stud taper (widest point) 20mm
Top of NJ boot lip to taper (widest point) 15mm

The specs of the #13009 are:

Base diameter 41.25mm
Stud opening 18.55mm
Overall height 27.75mm

The original boot is only 23mm high. So that extra height on the Energy Suspension boot makes up for the lack of a band on the bottom. The spindle compresses it down to keep the dust out.

They also work great on the UCA's too as I originally posted, basically the same specs on that boot.

Hope this helps!

There shouldn't be a difference in ride quality. It's a friggin' boot.

What he said.

You will see zero "performance" benefit from using this boot. This is ONLY to replace your dry rotted/cracked boot. Or perhaps the boot was damaged while seperating the ball joint from the spindle. You don't want to drive around with the ball joint exposed to the elements.

There are a gazillion people who sell Energy Suspension parts. Google "Energy Suspension universal boot 13009" and throw a dart. Or better yet find a vendor on here who can help you out.
