I bought one of those caliper paint kits from Pepboys. It came with the paint, cleaner (essentially just a can of brake cleaner) a paint stirrer and crappy brush. The clear coat did not come with it, but I did purchase a high temp clear coat and I put on 3 coats to protect the decal from peeling off. I painted mine over a year ago and they still look good, but you have to clean keep them clean, as now that they're glossy, you can really see the dirt.

Oh yeah, I agree, the passenger side decal looks like it's on the wrong way.

Yea I also bought the clear coat separately. Definitely worth it IMO.

how clean do these have to be before you start painting...i cleaned mine with a brush and brake cleaner the front part came out nice but it doesnt seem to get all the dirt out from the back and crevices....i would have to scrub them for hours. maybe i can use some wd40?

p.s btw what clear coat did u guys use? i went to my local parts store and the only ones they had were some wheel clearcoat and a clear engine enamel?

clear engine enamel will work, anything high heat.

I used the cleaner that came with is as well as some paint thinner and a few wire brushes to clean mine, then rinsed with water and let them dry out.

I didn't really worry about every single nook and cranny on the back side of the caliper since no one's really gonna see it. Then again, I did mine in black, so it's not as noticeable as if you were to do it in this blue or a light color like yellow. I scrubbed mine done really good with a wire brush and then sprayed them down with a lot of brake cleaner.

I got a good price on the blue G2 on Summit Racing, real quick shipping too. For some reason my orders from them have been coming in with some pretty nice free razors from like shick or gillette or something as a marketing thing...cool with me because those things are damn expensive. lmao

any recommendations for caliper colors on a Obsidian with black rims IS? Blue looks hot, black was another option but I think that will be too much
