Big Brake Kit upgrade
For the past several weeks I've been searching for an "excellent" brake kit at a decent price designed specifically for my Lexus to accomodate the TT setup. Here is what I came up with. Keep in mind that these kits are NOT universal kits. They were designed and tested specifically on Lexus vehicles along with each respective series.
There are 3 different kits and are all made by Stoptech and rebranded by prolexperformance. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this Stoptech....Stoptech's 4 piston caliper kit was recently compared to several other big time manuffacturers such as Brembo (recent Car and Driver issue). Stoptech's 4 piston kit clearly outperformed its rival Brembo 4 piston kit and even edged (is some tests) the 6 piston Brembo 14" kit.
1) 355mm (14.0") 4 Wheel - Lexus IS300 GS300/400/430 - Retail $4995
Four Wheel Brake Kit: 2-piece 355x32mm slotted or drilled rotors (floating design) both front & rear, 7075 T-6 Billet Aluminum directional hats, 4-piston calipers front & rear Red or Black painted, AXXIS Ultimate high performance street pads, DOT compliant stainless steel brake lines. Note 18" wheels required, additional wheel spacers may be necessary with some aftermarket wheels. May not fit some aftermarket wheels, please refer to wheel clearance chart
2) 355mm (14.0") Front Only - Lexus IS300 GS300/400/430 - Retail $2995
Front Brake Kit: No rear stainless steel lines. 2 piece 355x32mm slotted or drilled rotors (floating design), 7075 T-6 Billet Aluminum directional hats, 4 piston calipers red or black painted, AXXIS Ultimate brake pads, DOT compliant stainless steel brake lines, requires 18" and larger rim.May not fit some aftermarket wheels, please refer to wheel clearance chart
3) 332mm (13.1') Front Only - Lexus IS300 GS300/400/430 SC430 - Retail $2395
Front Brake Kit: No rear stainless steel lines. Front, 2 Piece 332mm x 32mm slotted or drilled Rotors with 7075 T-6 billet Aluminum Directional hats, 4 Piston ST40 Calipers painted Red or Black, High Performance brake pads, Stainless Steel Brake Lines. Fits the factory 17" rim. May not fit some aftermarket wheels, please refer to wheel clearance chart
This is not a group buy becaue it has not been officially approved by Static911. I would like to see how many would be interested given a 20% off CL discount.
Here are some pics.

Will the 4 piston.. st04.. clear the 17" L-Tuned Wheel? L-Tuned Wheel is the OZ wheel..
I been trying to find a quality 4 piston caliper that will fit the L-Tuned wheel..

you mean 20% on TOP of the price shown??
also, this might sound stupid, but if you say the 4 piston setup (the 13" setup) will clear the stock 17" wheels, it WILL clear on the 19" volkracing av3 right??
last of all, what is actually the size of the stock front rotors?!

M, What are the pieces shown down the center of the pic???
They really look like fitting brackets(similar to ones Ive seen for the Skyline/300zx retro fit), but that cant be the case if these are made specific for LEXUS right?????? Tiny

rominl,
becareful because i have 19" volks and i can not get a brake upgrade. its all btou the offest.. not the size of the rim.. well to a certain extent obviously. but check your offset to make sure it will fit. i purchased a +39 because i never though i would get a brake upgrade.. so i had to settle with pads rotors and ss lines .

tmasta.. there is a good chance that the first kit will fit. Check the Stoptech website for fitment information. I think if it fit into the stock 17" rim.. it will fit into most of the rim. com'on... there is not much clearance in the stock 17".

tinygs, I'm not sure. The rep told me the brakes were specifically designed for Lexus. So, take it for what it's worth. Best bet would be to call them and ask them yourself.
