Default Cover me, I'm goin' in! UCA and LBJ DIY

Bredeman in Glenview wants $2225.00 to do just the UCAs and LBJs - and that's just not on - I can get 10 sets of 4 Cubs tickets w/ parking for that much! I shouldn't have let them do the brakes now that i'm goin down there, but spilled milk and all ...

I've been going through threads for days and about to order parts to DIY both UCAs, LBJs and shocks (just because I'm already down there). Using Rock Auto and purchasing Beck/Arnley UCAs and LBJs and KYB GR2 shocks.

I'm cool on the procedures for the "big 3" already mentioned (thanks to some amaxingly detailed DIY threads in here), but can anyone sugguest anything else that I might want to replace while I'm doing the other stuff? I'm skilled with the tools but not the knowledge.

Should I replace the tie rods even thought they look fine? Are there certian bushings (?) that i might want to change out?

All advice appreciated.

Should I post pics when i'm done? Or is it too tired of an issue?

Thanks in Advance

Do the tie rods for sure. They may look fine but they're cheap enough that you'll want to do it all at once.

Check the big caster arm bushings for major cracks.

Great suggestions, thanks alot.

I'm shopping for the parts and see they offer outer AND inner tie rod ends at Rock Auto and Sewell has a "rod assy, tie" both right and left . Are both outer and inner the same as rod assy tie? If so Sewell actually has the better price too. Hmmm?

Parts will be here Friday morning except for 1, which should be here Saturday morning so planning to get to business Saturday afternoon.

Changing alot upfront:
LBJs
UCAs
Stabilizer bar links
outer tie rods
front shocks (KYB GR2)
Stabilizer bar bushings

Only snag was the right outer tie rod - I'm using all Beck/Arnley parts except for the shocks of course, but accidently ordered a Raybestos part for the right tie rod end
Should've checked over that parts list a little more closely. Oh well, probably won't be the first learning experience in the endeavor.

Reordered the Beck/Arnley part, hence the last part coming on Saturday (hopefully)!

Pics will follow ...

Wish me luck!
