Looking at replacing stock struts...
I am looking to replace the OEM struts on my 92 SC400 and I am looking for your thoughts. I want to maintain the OEM ride and I am not too worried about handling. I want to keep stock height as I want to keep my 92 all stock.
I am considering:
KYB GR-2: don't know if these are coilovers, but they are available for about $250 for the set of 4, shipped
Tokico: same as the KYB's, don't want coilovers, and go for about $250 shipped for the set
Gabriel: available through Autozone for roughly $85/strut
Are these as easy to change as regular struts?
By the way, I used the search button...

tokico would be cheaper through ebay and better we sell those gaberials and monroe struts in the shop cause their cheap and we make a killing off the markup but ur looking at 332.00 for all 4 gaberial's
the tokico are better and a 81.00 difference

Those were exactly the ones I was looking at...
Do I need the seat or strut mount as well, or any other parts if I were to simply remove the OEM struts and replace them with the Tokico's?

You're not going to keep the OEM ride with any of those. KYB is the closest but is still a little stiffer than stock. Go with OEM if you want to keep the ride. And get the 97+ shocks. They're the same but cheaper.

Can you give me a link to a site where I can get them cheap? Also, I assume you mean by the OEM Lexus shocks, and not the Autozone shocks.
Also, how much different are the Tokico's? Are they THAT much different. Tough to be $250 shipped to my door.
How much are OEM 97+ struts and where can I get them?

Yes, get the OEM Lexus shocks and struts. Lexus of Pembroke Pines are the cheapest I've found for just about everything OEM and they have fantastic customer service. 92-96 fronts are $179 each, 97+ are $45 each. Rears for 92-96 are $213 each, 97+ are $124 each.

It looks like it would be about $125+ taxes more for the OEM struts. Is the OEM ride significantly better than the Tokico ride? As is in, is it worth the money?
Keep in mind, I want the car to be smooth, no looking for super handling, rather and comfortable ride.
