Unhappy $ Broke but need new pads

I am short on cash, don't ask why I have a gs400, and I want to change my brake pads. I have never replaced pads before, and all I desire, seeing as I have no mods to my car and limited resources, is something that will perform as good as stock in that it stops the car and makes no noise. Possibly something that can handle a bit more stress than the stock pads as I tend to slow from high speeds quickly and often.

Also, does anyone know where to obtain good documentation on servicing the 98 GS400, I know that neither Chilton nor Haynes makes a comprehensive manual for it?

thanks,
Matt
