Default Stop the SQUEAL

Okay, so I can't sleep. I might as well give a little advice for those that have the squealing problem when using some high performance brake pads.

I've been fighting this super squeal (10 block loud squeal you can hear through your closed window kinda squeal LOL).

I have the ls400 calipers btw and switched to FERODO pads. They are amazingly loud.

Let's get on to the solution shall we?

It's really simple:

1) get the pink stuff anti squeal
2) buy the super brake pad of your choice
3) liberally apply the pink stuff onto the shim or whatever it's called (the stuff that gets applied onto the back of the pad).
4) Since it's liberally applied, let it sit for 24-48 hours or until the pink stuff dries.
5) Put the shim onto to the back of the pad. The pink stuff will be sandwiched between the shim and the back of the pad.

TADA!!! no more squeal. Thanks for reading.

There is a big difference here... they must add a gob of it and let it dry for a few days. Not just a smudge and wait for 10 minutes.

trust me, I've applied antisqueal... it just doesn't work like this technique, especially FORODO pads. This very thick layer allows the pads and the caliper to have more play (thus less vibration).
