Default 2001 + brake master cyl

i heard they were redesign in 01 internally. Did they change externally? meaning plug location and such?

i read that there is only one plug to change, can anyone tell me which one and if it is the same thru 05 (01-05)?

Any pics of 01-05 master would be appreciated.

Here is a PIC of the 98-00 unit

i think sewel sells a rebuild kit which is the plunger, but no rebuild for anything else, just replacement which is $$

So anyone know if 01-05 are the same unit?

Are you guys sure its with the 01 they started? or later? I recall test driving a few GS 430's late last year and hearing the buzzing sounds. But they both were 01's

i think ****-adkt just wanted to know if the 01-05 master cylinders were the same and yeah they are. the difference between the 98-00 and the 01-05 is the brake pressure sensor the prong setup is different. i was told that the 01-05 are better than the 98-00.

the buzzing sound is the brake booster building pressure or even the abs pump.

if its an annoying beep, thats the abs warning.

before you guys waste all that money by getting another brake master cylinder, check to see if the seal for the nitrogen tank is bad or not. most of the time, the nitrogen tank that boosts the bmc is out of nitrogen, hence you experience brake failure and all sorts of other problems.

interesting. How does go about getting it refilled? i would assume you need the correct tools and nitrogen.
