Default How much to install springs on awd car?

Hey,

For you guys out there who have lowered IS AWD's. How much did the mechanic charge you to install springs on your car?

I found one who'd install Tein S-tech's springs (on stock shocks) for $280-$340 because of "the complexity of our cars."
Is this fair?

Thanks for any advice...

it shouldn't be more than $200.. any more is too much IMO. I got mine installed for $150 @ tommy's "musicbox"(total time of installation:40mins). I know a place that did my scion tc for $100 but i trusted tommy more cause he deals with more IS's, and I think your installer is a bser. "the complexity of our cars." pshhhh whatever..

Lowering springs installation should cost anywhere from $80 - 150 max. Anything over $200 is way too expensive. There should not be any extra charge for a Lexus. A Lexus is not particularly more complex in terms of removing and reinstalling the suspension components and should just be like a Toyota or Honda/Acura.

Good luck with your install

Why don't you try tackling it yourself? I did mine with some friends to help me out a bit and it was super easy. You can rent the tools at an autozone and return them for a full refund too if that's what you need.

And to add to it, it was my first time doing springs ever.

I paid 76 for mine. Looks great. At first it will look like the front is higher then the back. Give it time to break in and drives and looks great on an AWD model.
