Default F-Sport Big Brake Kit

This is a two part question. Here goes...

1. Is the F Sport Big Brake Kit worth the money you spend on it? For any application such as daily driving, messing around on the back roads or taking your Lexus to the track. Spending $5000-6000 for front and back big brakes is a lot of money, so justifying the purchase would be needed. Other than the cool factor of how it look on your IS, is it worth the price you pay and do they lost as long if not longer compared to stock?

2. I will be a new Lexus owner here in a couple of months and I was looking online to find break replacements. I want a big break kit mostly because they look so much better than stock but also for the other added benefits. However, I know nothing about the F Sport Big Break Kit that Lexus dealers used to sell and if they will fit a 2017 IS350 F Sport with the the 18" stock wheels that come with it. Would anyone have an idea about this? Other big brake kit suggestions are welcome.

**Side Note** I spoke to the Lexus dealer about painting the calipers on the brand new 2017 IS and they suggested not to do that as it could lead to breaking issue but they said they would not be able to do that at the dealership.

Probably isn't worth the money at all. The stock IS350 brakes (assuming you're going for an IS350 and not a 250) work pretty well and I haven't noticed them fading too much if you're really pushing the car. I'm guessing the F Sport brakes perform significantly better than stock but it almost certainly is not worth the money. The added benefits don't justify a price that high. $5000 could probably get you a supercharger kit for the car or a full suspension upgrade + full bolt ons + a tune. And then there is the question of wanting to spend a lot of money into a car that likely won't increase in value. You could just put it into your next car or whatever else could use $5000 worth of attention.

I'll give you this though, the F Sport brake kit looks so much better than the stock brakes, but you could always paint the calipers. There are various posts around here with painted calipers on ISX50s and they give the car a lot more attention. And its probably only $20 to paint calipers. And if you want better brake performance, there are probably various aftermarket parts you could use instead.

$5000 is just WAY too much money for something that doesn't completely transform the car.

For the price of F Sport BBKs you're better off just getting an aftermarket option. I think they are just rebranded stoptechs iirc. I think you could get a Wilwood BBK setup for cheaper. If you are really F Sport for life kind of person than maybe it'll be worth it to you.

For the price, its just not practical. Though the F-sport BBK is legit and a great setup no doubt, you'll be limited by the tires on the car by how quickly it can stop. Yes, they look good; but so can a painted caliper. Also, an aftermarket pad might help give you a more confident pad feel if you're not enjoying the stock ones.

By the way, painting the calipers doesn't affect the car's braking ability. You can DIY to avoid the dealership.

Just a quick look at what they look like in a deep dish 19" SSR wheel :

$6K is steep, but they look sexy as fuuu. I'd go for aftermarket calipers that are similar in style and just install them yourself. I wonder if there is any modification for BBK aftermarket on a IS350, i know for sure there is for the IS250 since the brakes and rotors are smaller, hence smaller brake dust shields.

I HIGHLY recommend this set up. I've had it now for 2 years and love it. Every time I walk away, I turn around to look at the wheel/brake combo. I could not be happier. If you are going to buy, I would suggest looking for discounts around Black Friday or calling and asking for a discount.
