Replacing Ball Joints - what is this?
Hey all - I began having a terrible "popping" noise from my right passenger side, I originally thought that it was maybe a caliper getting hung up. It wasn't as everything seemed pretty tight and working properly (I went ahead and changed the brake pads while I had everything torn apart). After reading through these forums - I have come to the conclusion that it must be the ball joint wearing out and it needs replaced - does this sound like the culprit?
While I was under the car with the passenger wheel removed, I also noticed this bar rusting through - does this have something to do with my ball joint wearing out and WHAT IS THIS PART?

dang....your lower control brace (lcb) has bad corrosion. If salt is used on the roads during winter...I can see why this happens to the steel. Consider getting an aluminum replacement lcb.
