I jacked up the car and found the problem... its the lower ball joint on the spindle. It has some play in it. Since im selling the car I didnt want to replace it, took out the adjustment bolt, remove the lower arm so i can spray white lithum grease in the boots on both sides. Put it back together all gone.

Nice. That's probably the culprit for me also. Thanks

So can we replace just the joint/bushing or does the whole spindle need to be replaced? I've got this on my left rear, and it squeaks every time I get out of the car. Not as bad now in the warmer weather, but I've got to fix it.

It's driving me crazy!!

Figs will chime in that this isn't the right thing but the other spherical joints from rhdjapan.com (search aristo) for the rear carrier axles are like $180. There are a few guys running these and some other ones from the UK with no issues.

So let me get this straight. The bushing in the link you posted replaces the circled bushing in the pic above?

How does going from rubber to polyurethane affect the ride?

I too have the squeak.

Does anyone know if this bushing can be replaced with the spindle on the vehicle or does the spindle need to be removed to get it on a press?

Unfortunately it cannot be replaced. It needs to be pressed.
