Default Megan Suspension bottoming out...

I have Megans on lexus 18" rims.

Recently, the left front is scraping bottoming out over bumps. sometimes but rarely the right front does as well but not as much. The rears never do..

I have set the ride height on all four corners at 26 3/4" (measured from the ground to the top of the fender edge using the center cap as a straight line).

Is it just the nature of these coilovers or is it just it a problem with the coilover itself?

with the 18"s, the are almost flush maybe a little tucked...

also I have no spacers up front..

Could be anything...

How long have you had them? How many miles? Did you buy used or new?

If your tires are close to touching your fenders and the damping is too soft or the shocks are shot they will compress and the tires will rub...

I have had them installed for 9 months. Only 6000 miles. Purchased new..

The tires are close to the fender wheel trim. I am under the impression that dampening is not the issue but compression which is not adjustable on these coilovers..

Is this correct?

If you are bottoming out....you need front RCA kit if you want to remain at that height....adding piston travel.

its pretty hard to bottom out Megans since you adjust ride height via shortening the body.. If lowered "properly" only your UCA is hitting the Upper shock tower area.

now if you lowered the coilover via the spring perch this yes your shocks are bottoming out lol.

find out which.

Well I think the OP needs to define "bottoming out".

The the tire hitting the fender?

UCA hitting the chassis?

Shock itself internally hitting a stoppage?
