Need Upper Control Arm
So I am going to need an upper control arm on the passenger side soon. It looks like the part is around $600, I am wondering if anyone knows of a resource with a better price. I do want an OEM part and have no need for upgraded aftermarket performance parts, purely stock would be the best.

Check this site.
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php
They seem to have control arms for a lot cheaper.
Good luck.

I am looking for the same part, except on the driver side. Firestone quoted me for 586 + 132 labor, but I have no idea if it is an OEM part. Is OES Genuine the same as OEM? I've seen the part for about 400 at partsgeek and drivewire. I think the passenger side was 407.

The OEM/OES parts are less expensive because they do not go through the car manufactures part system. Every time an OE part goes through a depot, warehouse, dealer, there is a little more money added to the cost of the part. This is the major reason that OE parts cost more. OEM/OES do not go through this procedure, our buyers get them directly from the manufactures, keeping the prices down.
OE: Original Equipment: This part is either made by the car manufacture or is made by an automotive part supplier and is branded with the car manufactures logo and/or in the car manufactures box.
OEM Original Equipment Manufacture
OES Original Equipment Supplier
I dont think that the Firestone part would be the same as the OEM toyota part though.
I believe for control arms and stuff the manufacturer is toyota??
but 586 seems close enough to be maybe u should ask again if that is the toyota part because sometimes firestone etc etc get deals from the local dealers 10-15% off

Carson toyota has the part for 431 for club lexus members, 519 retail, I guess 586 is their markup.
I just looked at a couple of sites, aftermarket like dorman or beck/arnley is between 125 and 300 depending on which site you look on.
I tend to follow my mechanics advice and not use anything but OEM unless I am looking for a performance upgrade.

Just checked with Sewell, your right, 689 for both sides, 344.50 each. I am going to do this with the outer tie rods (89 a set) and possibly BC coilovers and the RCA front and back. Trying to get that plus a whole bunch of parts in all at once so I can make one trip to the mechanic.

When you're ready, just go here:
With all this, right after you have the ball joints, tie rods and the upper control arms, it's the caster rods that are next. I can't say we move a lot of lower control arms but we still stock them so that must mean something.
Good luck.

My OES genuine part number W0133-1598041 must not match toyota's 48630-39055 since the OES is skipping Toyota processing, as toy4life explained. I'm crossing my fingers that the part I get is the same part! Thanks for the info!

I just got my OEM upper control arms from Sewell early this past week. I have an app. to get them installed next Thursday. I highly reccommend buying from Sewell (just read a blip about them in "The Lexus Story" book) and I only reccommend getting OEM Lexus parts.
