Default Why does the car pull to the left when I accelerate from 70mph?

Why does the car pull to the left when I accelerate from 70mph? It seems to be fine at lower speeds and it is very smooth. Finally no shakes or vibration.

99 GS300 with 115k

Why does the car pull to the left when I hard accelerate from 70mph? If I let off the power it will pull back to the right and imediatley after it feels like the rear end of the car is steering the back end like an old articulated fire truck[ bit of exageration]

I felt this and tried to explain it to the mechanic before this new work was done. It was doing it before and it is still doing it.
-Replaced 4 month old front right LBJ...he said it was defective
-corrected air pressure
-corrected alignment

Since January I've had:
- a 4 wheel alignment for the 4th time,
-new tires[at correct pressure],
-upper control arms and lower ball joints replaced in January
-sway bar bushings replaced

My old 98 GS400 was never so buggy.

I guess it is very similar to torque steer. But why would a rear wheel car behave like that?

I noticed today on the highway that if I downshift [no brakes at all] to slow down and exit the highway the car will pull to the right. I imagine this might be normal because of the crown of the road but it is fairly strong and opposite of when I accelerate.

I hope this helps because I'm surprised no one has posted any thoughts yet on this problem. I keep searching the forum but I can't find a key word that identifies this symtom.

Have you tried jacking up the back of the car and checking for any play in either of the rear wheels? It could be a worn out bushing somewhere in the rear suspension causing undesired toe changes under acceleration/deceleration.

Just a thought...

both upper control arms and both ball joints are new. The mechanic says it all looks fine and he test drove it. But i dont remember my old 98 gs400 feeling like that. i wish i could find a local mechanic that was as good as the dealer.
