So I just got a check up on my car it's an 2003 with 90,000mi. on it. The mechanic who I go to says my front upper right control arm is stlightly worn. I guess the ball joint it built into the arm so I have to replace the whole thing. And he says my left sway bar link is slightly worn. Lexus says $580 for the arm and $145 for each link. Lexus also said it was a 1.5hr job for control and about 1hr job for the links does this sound right to guys? The mechanic say the not worry about the sway link but what about the control arm how long can I put this off before it should be done? I dont want to cause a domino effect of damage to the car. What would you recomend I do? How long can I wait to have this done becuase roughly $700-750 for the arm job or $1000-1200 for arm and link job is some dough.
