Ucf20 bbk but still soft pedal 😩 jzs16 03
Hey all, so a while ago, I got the dreaded squeal from the accumulator, so I replaced the bmc with a pressure tested 2nd hand one, and got a new gas thingy from Toyota. I had not long before had a ucf20 bbk installed along with new pads up front and braided lines all round (pedal still wasnt quite what I was anticipating at this stage). The calipers were pulled apart, inspected, new seal kit and bleed nipples installed before being put in the car. When the bmc failed, I sent it to a reputable brake shop to have the new (used) unit installed, bled and so on, basically get it driving again.
so I got the car back, and the pedal is still soft, almost to the floor, no real bite or anything in the brakes. I took it back for them to re-bleed and inspect, but they came back with nothing. Their only explanation was the cylinder bore wont cope with the upgrade. Which is contrary to everything Ive read online and on here about the simplicity of the upgrade and improved braking. Can anyone please shoot me some ideas or thoughts on what could potentially be the issue, a way to solve it or just some encouraging words! Im at such a loss and dont want to have to fork out much more on this. I want to continue with the build.

A soft brake pedal is usually because of air in the system. I know you have had them bled several times, bleed them yourself so you see how the fluid looks and find out if there is ail bubbles in the lines, or not? Another possibility , are u certain the rotors your running are a match for the bigger calipers u added? Did you buy new pads and rotors? If you got new rotors, did the protective film that comes on them for shipping get cleaned off before they were used? Have you inspected the pads and rotors to see if there paint, oil, or anything that has contaminated the pads or rotors? And final question, do you know what brand and type brake pads your running? Long life pads will give u a soft brake pedal and long stops,

Take it to Lexus or Toyota and have it bled with the Tech Stream Software System. You have air in the system that's why your brake pedal is soft. I have a big brake kit on my car as well... bleeding normally does not work.
