Default Adjust Megan Coilover Damper Stiffness

I got a set of used megan coilovers that didn't come with an instruction manual, on my old tein SS coilovers for my TSX, there was a **** on the top that you would use an allen wrench to adjust the stiffness, for the megan coilovers when I turn that ****, I don't hear any clicks, it just seems like the whole body turns, am I doing something wrong? How am I supposed to adjust the stiffness?

Thanks!

the "clicks" should be more of a feel than a sound when you turn the damper adjustment ****.

Thanks! I was looking around google images and it seems that the megan coilovers actually have an adjustment **** on the top? Mine is just a hole for an allen key, am I missing a part?

there should be adjustment ***** on top of each shock (making it four ***** total).

if you don't have it, you'll need to talk to your seller if he has them.

otherwise, you'll need to contact megan racing to see if you can get a replacement set.

Ahh that makes sense - I was able to stick a smaller sized allen key into the opening and make my adjustments. thanks for your help!

no problem.

btw, i would still recommend going to get those *****. makes it a lot easier to make damper adjustments.

I'll definitely look into it - btw is there an easier way of getting access to the rear shocks other than tearing up the trunk paneling?

short of trimming holes to access the rear shocks or removing the trunk paneling, no.

actually, you can get megan's coilover damper **** extensions and make a small opening in the lining to thread them through.

Hmmm that sounds like a good idea too - have you guys found that the megans are a LOT more stiff than the stock setup? Does changing the spring preload affect the stiffness? The car's stiffer now than my lowered Mr2 ever was...

Ok so i`ve adjusted the preload on my coilovers and the ride is quite a bit smoother now, but Ive had to raise the rear quite a bit to prevent the tires from tucking. Does anyone know if its possible for me to raise the car too much? I.e. is it a concern that I`ve screwed out the center portion from the shock body too much that it`ll be dangerous?

apparently it's okay to raise it all the way up to factory ride height levels.

The height adjustment is made easy with CNC-Machined locking perches for accuracy and smooth adjustment. You can raise your car up to factory height for OEM appearance with performance handling or you can drop your car all the way down for a formal racetrack and an aggressive stance lowering your center of gravity to gain full potential of your car’s handling capabilities.
