Default Corner weighed the GS yesterday

I put coilovers on the other day...and the scales were right there, so I put it on just to see.

1999 GS4
complete weight car minus spare w/t and jack
1/4 tank fuel
stock 17s
H&R coilovers
Exact front and rear RCA

At the same time I installed new 2005 model caster arms, Daizen control arm and steering rack bushings. New lower balljoints, inner and outer tie rod ends. I did not replace the new bushings in the caster arms with the Daizen pieces, I'll leave them for when the stockers start to wear again.

I set my OCD aside because its my DD and I would rather have the car look just right, ride height wise and as long as the cross weights were close, rather than adjust to a perfect 50.0 so the front fender to the base of the wheel, not the tire, is 22.5, the rear is 23.0.

Weight with me: 3866, w/o me: 3695.

LF: 1088____RF: 1062
LR: 900____RR: 816

Close enough, but I like it!

Alignment:

Camber
F: -1.6
R: -.06

Caster
7.5,7.7

Toe
F: .05
R: 0

The driver's side was -1.9 and the passenger's side was -1.2 a little more tweaking and then ultimately loosening the subframe to move it over some and we got -1.6 on both. I would've preferred less negative camber on the front but that is as good as it gets at this height.

This is great info. I have the EXACT RCAs front and rear as well.

Your camber specs front and rear are similar to mine, but since I have more drop, I can't get the front camber as good. I'll have to dig for my actual specs and edit this post later.

Can we see a picture of your drop?

The BOTTOM LINE for many is to see how much drop is achievable while still being able to keep the rear camber in spec. and the front camber within reasonable range.

I'll have to post a pic of my car as well.

I'm changing my coilover set up soon and will corner balance the car after it's in.

Now I have your data as a reference.

Not the best pics, I actually took these for another reason, but here it is.

RMMGS4, did you ever find your specs?

You look at them

Corner balance specs are like alignment specs. You have an initial reading and you adjust your coilovers or move around parts for better weight distribution. One of my goals this summer is to corner balance my car once I get my clicking noise fixed

The weight distribution is not too bad for a 2GS!

I've have several threads where I posted detailed info on RCAs.

Do an ADVANCED search using my SN and keyword "Exact".

Yup, I was actually the first to use Exact Front and Rear RCAs back in 2008.

How does your car react from corner exit? I notice that you're running quite a bit of front camber which is good for turn in but this would also cause some lift on the exit? Have you test this on the track yet?

Now that my car has dropped more and more each year over the past 2 years, my coilovers are too soft for aggresive handling, as the fronts are near bottoming when compressed in a turn. So I plan on switching them out this summer, along with a few other suspension tweeks. Also with all the torque I have with the FI, my biggest concern was getting rear grip exiting a turn. The SupraTT LSD did not work at all for me, once I added more power it would kick out abruptly and I would almost have to be straight before adding any throttle. Switching to a Carbonetics LSD helped a lot as I can get on it earlier, gradually coming out of the apex and the car is a lot more predictable.

LOL
That's funny that you said you were loosing rear grip. I can't wait till I finally dial in my tune this weekend and then letting my car rip. Which Carbonetic LSD did you get? i.e. Carbon or the metal ones? I'm looking at adding the 1.5 way carbon setup to my supra but it cost almost $2k for the LSD alone. I know the TRD unit is tested and proven, but I like the feel of the Carbonetic unit better after driving a supra with it on track. Oh, thanks alot for all the help with the skid plate mount and front crash bar. I have some updated pics coming soon.
