New Daizen Steering Rack Bushing install (2010)
So I took a look at the original thread here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...k-warning.html
But NO FRIGGING PICTURES GAAAAAH!!!
So in an effort to help out other people that want to know what's actually going on with this install. I tried to take photos of the process I went through when I did my car.
In all, there are 4 bolts to remove. When they are removed, the steering rack just rests on the crossmember.
The bushings on the drivers side came out by tapping / punching them out with a rubber mallot and a ratchet extension. For the top bushing on the drivers side, I just aligned the bushing with the hole in the crossmember that the bolt came out of (from the bottom) and attacked with the mallot.
The whole thing took about 20min after getting the car off the ground.
It looks like in my excitement, I forgot to take pics of the completed product... sorry guys.
^ Passenger before pic
^ Drivers Before Pic
^Drivers Bolt removed
^Drivers bushing removed
I used the hammer there to create space behind the rack so I could pound out the bushing.
^Passenger bushing removed
^New and old bushings compared
The end result....
Corners that required a half turn of the steering wheel now only require a quarter turn. Bump steer is almost completely gone, and doesn't pull my car into other lanes anymore. Feedback is perfect, and I'm now certain that the steering ratio isn't 2,000,000 : 1.
Hope this you guys / gals out.

Damn.......this reminds me of yet another thing I have to do to my car.......lets see, I have these to put in, 5-spd swap to do, BC coilovers to install and fenders to pull, oh, and I have an injector stuck wide open so it's not even drivable.....I got my work cut out for me...
And yes, not having pics up in that other thread sucks......props for taking the initiative.
