Type of rotors/ brake pads?
I need to replace my rotors/ brake pads and was wondering what type of rotors/ pad are the OEM, and if I should get OEM or aftermarket? Thanks

From my understanding OEM brakes aren't that good plus the brake dust. I've replaced my Rotors/Pads and I went all aftermarket. I went with the R1concept rotors and Hawk HPS pads. Rotors are good haven't had a problem with them yet but they did start to rust a lot quicker than I thought but I do live in WA. I love these pads I can stop of a dime and once you engage the break pedals you can notice the breaks working. The only thing I didn't really like was the break dust but that could have been the pads bedding in. I had them on since OCT 31st so about a month now and I love the performance

I went with just a blank OEM rotor. From reading on the threads all the slotted/drilled rotors don't really work great if at all and you'll run into the possibility of it cracking. But if you want it for looks make sure you get Brembos or something that is well known. Do a seach and read about the reviews of pads and/or drill/slotted rotors.

Before you ask for people's opinion, what you need to ask yourself first is what will be the primary purpose that you'll use your car for? If it's just daily driving, I'd stick with the factory rotors and add a higher friction pad, some SS brake lines, and a good brake fluid like ATE Blue and call it a day. The brake pad of choice for me would be some Carbotech pads. You can choose the bobcat 1521 pads for daily use or step up to the AX6 pads for spirited driving. I've used them both on my GS300 prior to moving onto a BBK.
