Default 97-00 Control Arm Bushings

I purchased a 92-96 Prothane bushing set. The front lower arm bushing fits with no issue.

The rear bushing does not fit into the sleeve. You will need to take a dremel and trim the sleeve opening so the bushing can slide in.

It was straightforward, unsure why the sleeves are different between the years.

Yup... My brother and I had to do the same thing for his LS400. It was a pain but managed to take that sleeve out.

hey man i am a lexus tech and my bushings are worn out but instead of putting the polli bushings in i am getting the supra front lower control arms instead they are supposed to feel a lot more crisp then the original factory arms as i am into cornering and of course speed (only on the track though) they only cost about $350.00 each side

700 for supra arms versus 66 bucks for prothane bushings provided the ball joints are good

I went for the Supra lower front arms, worth it for me. My Oem's were toast and the Supra's are my better than Lexus arms. But for the price you paid, can't beat it.

Here is a couple tips for those installing these bushings on a 97-00 SC. Pics show what needs to be cut away to make the bushings fit.

Can we see some pics of the old bushing vs the newly installed bushing with all the cuts made?

Sorry to revive an old thread but I am currently trying to replace the bushings on my 97 SC300 and can't get the two piece poly bushings installed because of the sleeve with the oblong opening on the one side. If I cut both the inside part of the sleeve (with the oblong opening) as well as the lip the width would be too narrow so I am thinking that I need to cut the inside section but leaving the lip, do you have any tips or recommendations on how to get this done? Thank you in advance and again sorry for reviving a dead thread
