Default Brake Rotors

Can anyone tell me what they think about these rotors and if anyone had any experiences with brakeplanet.com?

Please tell us why going to a slotted or drilled rotor would be beneficial over a stock blank Lexus rotor?

why would u want crossdrilled or slotted?
do you race your GS enough that you overheat your pads? causing your pads to glaze and u needing the slots to shave them off???
oem blanks are good enough

cross drilled and slotted brakes are used to disapate heat. that is the only advantage. other than that slotted shave your pads at a higher rate and cross drilled tend to crack if they are not drilled from the factory. for example most cheap cross drilled rotors are bought in bulk as regular rotors and then some company drills them out therefore weakening them. so unless you are racing or excessive breaking then there is really no point to use them, execpt for the fact that they do look really cool and race inspired. just my $.02

You can get a blank brembo from tirerack for about 68 bucks each for the front. Those cheap drilled/slotted rotors will not only increase dust and wear on your pads, the rotors tend to warp as well.

Sorry to break this to you guys...but...

cross-drilling was never done to aid in cooling. Its purpose was to remove the worn away pad material so that the surfaces remained clean. This doesn't have much of a purpose nowadays. It used to way back when pad technology wasn't up to par with today's standards.

I just bought some Duralast rotors from Autozone for $40 each. I hear good things about them. Honestly I don't require super heat dissipating brakes for the way drive. I just wanted some new rotors so I could paint the dome part black before the rust sets in. I hate looking at my rusty rotors through my wheels. I'll have my old OEMs resurfaced and paint them and they will be ready when I need them.

That's a good price on that website. Carson sells the OEM blanks for that same price each front one.
