the pin goes through it, so if you have that on the car already you need to take that back off. then you will see the tiny holes where they go.

check this thread as it will be the same if not similar.

I have already put these in anti squeal springs in and it brakes fine. The car actually it made a loud tick or clack when I would go from reverse and then brake when going forward for the first time. Almost like the clips we forced forward in reverse and then forced for back in drive. Now it no longer does this.. so I just may want to identify and leave them out..

I can take a look. On the GS the pin does not go through the little clip as its not large enough. I could not see where these clipped over the top of the anti squeal spings..?

Looks like the IS does not have this squeal plate, refer to my second post...

Thanks for the link Mike!

you are only talking about the retainer that you posted right? to my knowledge that anti-squeal does not replace this clip.

if you look at your second pic (looks like W) the lower part is where the pin goes through. The GS does have this also from when I did my brakes. When you slide that pin in that clip (retainer) has to be there. Let me see if I can find a better pic to show it clearer.

this is the same thing in this post here. see how you can not install it after you have the sliding pin in place. you have to remove if you have already installed.

those are to control the open and close of the brakes so it doesn't make the clunk noise when you go reverse then forward early in the morning. It goes on the top side of the brakes where the calipers are at.

That's the thing, the pin does not fit through the bottom of the W and its not a circular loop. The pin circumference is a lot larger. I appreciate your diligence Mike!! About the FI.. slow. I sent ya a pm.

Does anyone have a pic for me on the GS?
