L-tuned GS300
got my GS300 Ltuned yesterday. springs, shocks, muffler and steering. total=2,800.00 with TAX at dealer. I think i over did it.
Question, I had my lexus oem rims on when they did my l-tune. after putting my 18in rims, the steering shakes left to right alot when drive 30mph and up. I am taking the car in for service tomorow. Just wondering if putting new rims would cause this. These rims are 1 year old and last year they were fine without l-tuned upgrade.
Last, I heard on this board that L-tune muffler was the lowest rumble. If that's true, I would like to hear other mufflers because these are loud enough that at all times you now you have something different.
One last thing, I asked my service man at lexus and he said if i was to get a different air intake system, it would void some part of my warranty.

Re: L-tunded GS300
whoah, that's a lot to spend for LTUNED. Then again, getting it done at the dealer warranties it so I guess maybe the markup is worth it.
Anyway, regarding your concerns
1) LTUNED is NOT the lowest Rumble. Lowest rumble would've been the TTE quads. From the single tip ones, I've heard Lsportline would be quietest . Bang for the buck though, LTUNED would suffice.
2) If you got the Steering ECU and your wheels still shake, I would suggest looking at your balancing. Usually, Lexus will align your car when they install your shocks/springs but if you mount the wheels separately, your alingment will be off (plus, the springs have to settle) and you may have to look at your balancing.
3) Yes you void the warranty if you put an aftermarket intake on but well, all you have to do is take off the intake right before you take the car in and you'll be ok - After all, it's just an intake

Thanks for the info. they did say that they would do a balance of some sort.
anyone have the this rod millen filter? it looks like it's only the filter part, so less to take off.

That RMM looks like it's from a GS400.
THE RMM's now are just like that (I have it on my car). You won't get teh heat shield (at least I didn't)
I'm really happy with mine and I got mine for only $45.00 and it's genuine with the filter and bracket. I got it off a Lexus Tech in Tenesee who took it off an RMM car cuz the guy didn't want the noise.
Basically, I got $200.00 off hahaha
People here on the board don't like the RMM and prefer injen or SRT but me, I like it just fine. It's quiet (uses stock piping) and it's easy to mount.
Plus, it's $45.00

$45.00, thats a steal. it's selling for $300.00 at rod millen site. It't comes with heat shield and works for gs300.
Thanks for sharing your picture. Looking at that picture, do I still need to remove hoses and ECU unit from orignial air filter?

I was told by the head service manager of Lexus here in Austin that the air intake would not void the warranty if it were professionally installed.

Yes you do need to take off the old MAS (mass air sensor) from the old stock filter and put it on the RMM.
The instructions they give you suck. But you'll be able to figure it out. The RMM kit will give you new hoses although you can use the old ones for the ones that fit. They will give you a "T" adapter and a longer hose which you can then use to connect to your gas tank.
I used the weapon "R" instructions found here in clublexus as my instructions as the RMM instructions really really sucked. With it, I installed the Intake in about an hour 1/2. 30 min to take off the old stock filter and an hour to install the RMM.
If I were to do it again (second time), it would take 20 min.

My springs/shocks + install (at dealer) was $940.
My exhaust + install (at dealer) was about $630 I think.
My ECU was $140 and I installed it myself.
So that's $1710.
Did you forget to mention something? If not, it sounds like you got shafted.

yep, I was taken for a ride. The bulk of the cost was labor, 65%. How much did you pay for labor? the parts price seem the same comparing to the prices on l-tuned website.
I should have asked on the boards on prices before I spent my money.
