Default My rim wiggles...

I'm not sure how to explain this. I went to switch out my rims and when I put the new ones on, I noticed after I tightened the nuts that the rim was still loose? Basically, if you kneel in front of the rim grab the rim as if you're taking it off or putting it on, you can wiggle it. Now when this happened with my other car, it was the hub that needed to be replaced and with THAT car it was all one assembly. As I did some searching I come to find that with the GS you can buy a lot of the parts separate instead of the whole assembly. My question: With this problem, what part is truly causing it? I'm yet to get in there and pull things apart, but thought I'd ask first in the case someone has done this already... not to mention its gonna be 107* all week! ugh

thanks

side to side. but is that for sure the tie rod? (yea it helps cause it gives me something else to look at) its real tight when I shake up and down, but side to side it has a good inch of play. I suppose I would start with the cheap part. You think inner or outer tie rod?

how long can I procrastinate this? Its TOO damn hot here man!!!

Well, I jacked the car up and wiggled the rim around. I saw that the tie rod (as presumed) was moving in and out, but I couldnt put my eye on exactly what was moving... So I put my car up on the lift... I shook things around again opened my eyes, I still couldnt see anything so I pulled the boot off and saw the ball moving around a bit so come to find out it was the INNER tie rod :/ So a bit more work, but It'll get done. Thanks for all the help guys.

Well I changed it this morning... Have to say its SOO much easier when you've got a lift! LoL. Anyways, yea that sucker was ready to go! VERY loose! But unfortunately looks like the little trip to and from my buddies shop contributed to the wiggle and got real bad and may have taken out the bearing as well :/

But yea GS300TOM, the outer is a bit loose as well. Sad thing is that now that this one has gone out, I'm starting to hear the rest of them so on next paycheck, I'm gonna just do an overhaul on all the joints, front and rear. Might as well do them all at once since the car is up.

OH HECK NO!!! no baller here... I just dont want to worry about anything! I'll scrounge up all I can, sell what I must and not eat for awhile if i have to! (Hopefully its enough to get what I need) When it comes to my cars, I try not to skimp especially when it comes to safety and/or cosmetics. The way I figure it, if something goes, its gonna take out the fresh paint :P true though, just not worth taking the chance.
