Default REAR supra TT brake fit on a 2GS???

Hello all,

Got a question for all the brake experts out there.. will the REAR supra TT brakes and rotors bolt-on fit a 2nd Gen GS???
If not, anyone know what kind of modding would you have to do?

thanks in advance for the feedback..

I'm putting these on my build... we're making brackets for the rear. If there's enough people say 10 or so I might shell out and make some brackets after. We'll see.

Basically the rotors fit... calipers will work with a custom bracket so that they're spaced correctly and don't hit anything. There's a few threads on here if you search about others inquiring.

Can you elaborate some more into how the rotors will fit? From observation, the outer disc will fit but the parking brake that's built into the hub will be different from the supra TT and 2GS. I'm guessing that you'll be eliminating your parking brake therefore only using the cable to engage the rear caliper?

I am not sure yet how the rotors will fit with the GS hub. I'll find out soon enough when I take apart the rear brakes. I may have wrongly assumed that the drum would be the same size which would suck. But if that's the case I'll just find a rear drum assembly from a MKIV TT and swap it in. I won't be eliminating the parking brake that's for sure!

I can slide fine without the ebrake but you know sometimes you need it to prolong a slide or change your angle, slow down etc... so many uses it's necessary.

Fitted the rear rotors on yesterday... ebrake would work just fine. You will need to remove the dust cover and find/make a bracket for the calipers - I'll start on that in a few weeks.

Yah this is on the list after the car gets some downtime - likely around mid Sept. It will be simple to mock up and produce just not sure how much it will cost me. I'm not a company or anything so I'd just be doing a few sets for serious people if anything.

The TT rotor is larger in diameter, but otherwise all other dimensions are the same as the 2GS rotor, including the parking brake drum. No issues using the parking brake.

The bracket to adapt the TT caliper will require adapting the bolt spacing about an inch further apart than the 2GS, plus the spacing to compensate for the larger diameter rotor.

I am interested to know if anyone found a way to make these work. If a bracket was successfully made and if they were ever, or will be produced with enough interest. I have an opportunity to swipe a set of rear Supra TT calipers for low $$.

I have a set of calipers and have been meaning to do this for a while but I might just go BBK instead. I finally have a 3D printer that I could mock something up with but its just time

XAT auto makes custom brackets to use the 01-06 LS430 rear calipers and Supra TT rotors. Direct bolt up for the 2GEN GS.
