Bringing this back from the dead

Not sure if this is a valid question or not, but do you need to change your shocks? I was talking with a friend who owns a bmw and he said that if you lower your car with spring you probably need new shocks since those are made to work at stock height. Also i heard that if you lower your car at all your camber will change increasing tire ware. If this is true how to do you adjust camber?

New to the mod scene* lol

The answer...you don't HAVE to change them but aftermarket shocks are usually built with better internals which can handle the slight increase in road feel since being lowered. Your camber will change and cause inner tire wear. There is no way to adjust that on a stock IS. You would need to buy an adjustable camber kit to set it back to spec. This can all be done by having a 4 wheel alignment after spring/shock install.

Thanks for clearing it up! Ive had a lot of confusion about this for awhile haha. So an alignment alone will fix camber? or the camber kit + alignment ?

I just put h&r spring on my '10 is250 . It drop good enough & i like it but lil bit stiff than oem spring but i dont mine cuz i cant stand with the oem gap spring . I went to alignment n did the alignment n thy said my alignment still can handle the h&r drop without replacing the camber kit . Cuz mostly my car still new so the ahock still ok but i think if the car has 5year old better replace the shock when doing lowered the car .

Good luck
