H&R vs. Eibach Springs - Comparative Review
#16
1. No, H&R Springs don't come with rubber sleeves new or used.
2. You don't need them with H&R Springs. Some say you do with Eibach, but thats still inconclusive.
3. That *bam* I was talking about isn't "coil slap". That *bam* is the jarring hit your entire car is going to feel when you hit a big bump or pot hole.

Though its your choice, there isn't anything 'unsafe', unless you do the install wrong. If you have them, try them before spending money on additional parts for an annoyance that may not exist.

Awesome info bro! I have the AWD and am getting ready to put some 19's on and don't want to lower much.
There are some H&Rs on the classifieds that I'm looking at purchasing that will lower 1.4". Will this be too much of an agressive drop? I really don't wanna have to roll or shave anything and especially don't want to bottom out if I hit a dip in the road. Any advice? I haven't purchase wheels yet, but will most likely be between 19x8.5 or 19x9.5 (depending what wheels I end up going with).

H&R's are the best looking drop (for springs) there is. I would go with coils fiirst... but if your on a budget, H&R's are without a doub the best looking drop there is.

Thanks again broseph! ...can I ask what size wheels you're running and how much of a drop you have (regarding the pic in your sig)? I'm just trying to get an idea of what 1.4" will look like.

Just wondering op, what was your wife's 250AWD running on? stock 17s?
I just grabbed the springs off of a member on the forums here, and I'm on stock rims. Do you think they will sit funny, or the car will sit too low because the rims are so small?
javyLSU's car sits really nicely with the H&R springs, but he's on 19s. So I'm just wondering how my car will sit with the stock rims.
Thanks in advance.

People claim they are the same with no real evidence other than the lowering specs are exactly the same (1.0" front/0.8" rear), both springs are progessive.
But many F-sport users have had problems with rear spring clunking noises, susposedly fixed with another later version of rear springs. See the other thread on this issue.
I'm using Eibach 350's (since May 2009), with no clunking noises.
