Question Springs VS Coilovers VS Air Suspension

Hello
Im a total noob on this subject so i need some help.
-What are differences between these 3?
-Hows the Ride? Comfortable or Hard?
-Why Springs/Coils/Air?

I had previously owned JIC Magic FLTAR2 Coils but sold them because i had such an aggressive front. Im thinking of getting Air but is it worth it?

i think just depends on what kinda set-up youre going for.

Springs if: you want a conservative drop and are on a budget. You can always take em off and sell it if you want to go lower or a different look.

Coilover if:
you have alittle dough to spend. Also depending on what coils you get could be just as comfortable if not more comfortable then stock. Also its adjustable so that if you want to be aggressive then youre free to, again depending on what coils you get.
Air if: you got alot of dough to spend. Ride height is fully adjustable. Go as aggressive as you want. Ride is as good as stock, im my personal opinion. Also, its just a badass thing to have.

Thanks for all the input.
How is the ride on the air suspension compared to coils? Stiffness? Body Roll? I had JIC Magics but sold it because i scraped so much from having an agressive lip.. and on top of that the streets of LA sucks..

Springs are good only for looks, they usually won't be matched very well for the stock damping and will kill the stock shocks very quickly. Plus they give you a slightly uneven, and set ride height.

Coilovers are a much better option. They let you adjust your height at will, usually have adjustable damping, and they can be specced for different spring rates. they will stiffen up the ride though, and may include a bit more NVH. they will usually dramtically improve handling.

Air ride is good justfor cruising and looks. Usually handling is only mildy better if at all, sometimes less firm than stock. Good for getting extremely low, past the point of driveability.

How do you adjust ride heights with coilovers?

Some have adjustable length bodies and adjustable spring perch heights. Some only have adjustable spring perch heights. The adjustable bodies are more desirable because you keep the shock travel you need as you lower (less of a sacrifice to the ride quality/handling).

Yes. Universal Air Suspension can be pair with most coilover applications.

I have had all 3

Springs - Crap, waste of money, blows shocks faster, no adjustability

Decent Brand Coilovers - Awesome! Rides very nice, sticks to the pavement. Full adjustability, height, dampening

air x coilover hybrid - Best of Both worlds! Rides like stock, adaptability of height via controller, dapening adjustability due to coilover shock used, Handles great.

On a side note, the higher you are aired up, the stiffer the ride is due to compression. I ride at my same drive height as I did on my KWv3. Ride is great, just not as firm as the coilovers are

It's all personal preference, some people are content with springs. I have gone through 3 different sets of coils already and I'm happy with coils.
