Brake issue - help!
Hi all,
I need help to figure out what is causing the follow behavior.
Today I was driving in stop and go traffic for about 60 minutes when this happened. I brake lightly to coast to a stop at a red light. As I let my foot off the brake pedal, the pedal stays down with the brakes still being applied. As the light changes, I hit the gas and the brakes are still not letting go...so I am both braking (not by choice) and hitting the gas as the same time. As I apply more gas, the car starts forward and a second later the brake let's go and everything is normal...until I hit the next stop light where the same thing happens.
I am trapped in traffic so I hit the brake pedal a number of times (trying to unjam it) and I drive normally for the next 20 minutes.
This brake 'not letting go' thing has happened a number of times so I've had a Lexus independent mechanic look at it but he couldn't find anything or replicate the problem.
Any thoughts as to what my problem is?
