I totally agree with SC, two totally different setups, FWD, vs RWD, probably bigger on the sc, etc, etc, as for the comment about carfax........ guess what if the previous owner did not take the car to any shop, bought the parts from a JY, and installed them himself, then no carfax report. My 93 ES has yellow paint all over the front suspension, carfax says nothing. Because the yellow paint is what JY's use to identify used parts as they go out the door, I know that a good part of the front suspension has been replaced..... sooo you cant always believe carfax

I want to see pics!!! I too highly doubt they put FWD on a RWD car...Have you pulled a PN off the caliper or gone to the part store to compare visually a es300 caliper?

sounds like u guys are right about the shady mechanic work, i still can't take any pictures because i've been working during the day, but hopefully this weekend there won't be any snow and i'll be able to get the photos up. I've got an appointment with Lexus to look at my brake system on friday. although he did say that the hub is wrong too

I'm with the others who say that it doesn't even sound possible that they could be "wrong". As tightly as these cars are assembled I can't see how anything "wrong" being installed, such as an entire braking system from a FWD car, would not have DRASTIC effects on the drivability of the car, particularly having a "wrong hub".

Also agreed on the SC300 vs. SC400 vs. LS400 discrepancy, the good money says that they thought 400s and 300s were supposed to have the same brakes. However, the odds that two shops would be so wrong about something so vital are also very small, so the whole situation is weird to begin with.

I've had it with shops and their attitudes.

Here is an ES300 caliper (notice the single piston)

Here are SC300 calipers: (notice the dual piston)

Unless you have a complete hybrid setup, I dont understand how the hell this would work.

That is, of course unless you actually own an ES300 and mistook it for an SC300.

SC300 are smaller than SC400. They could be using sc400 parts instead.
