Default ISF Swaybars - Parts + Labour

Hi Guys,

I recently inquired the dealership about parts and labour cost for ISF swaybars for my IS350 and they estimated the following (prices in Canadian$);

Rear sway bar $280.00 + tax (parts + labor)
Front & rear sway bar $620.00 + tax (parts + labor)

Can anyone verify whether this is too high or about right?

ps. The rear sway was priced separately in case I didnt install the front.

It is much cheaper than in the states, but all you really need is the rear and that will set you back only $180 +15 minutes.

^ agreed. if you have a 250, then I would recommend both. Installation takes 10-15 minutes. It's so easy to do too. If you are muscle challenged, I would recommend going to the gym before doing the installation :OP

Did you really mean IS-F sways or you were referring to F-Sport sways?

I think I meant FSport sways...I dont even know!

So, if I hear you guys, I should buy and install the rear sway on my own...

Also, I should have put this into the original question, but is it even worth it? I mean, I got the impression that if I throw the car into corners then the sways would be noticeable, otherwise, it may be a waste of money.

It is noticeable even when taking corners rather slow, so yes it is worth it if you want to reduce body roll.

Honestly, if you can read english, operate a floor jack, and have two working hands, you can install it. It's -incredibly- easy.

15 minutes for the rear bar if you have a friend to help, maybe 45 minutes for the front, going slow, with a friend helping.

And yes, it's worth it even if you don't drive like a maniac

The rear is extremely easy. The front isn't too bad either. Most of the time spent on the front is used removing the damn panels.

Update:

Dealership wants $380.00 + Tax for parts only...seems a bit steep, no?

Did you ever confirm if they're quoting you prices for IS-F sways or F-Sport sways (two different things, you probably want the F-Sport ones)

Like everyone has said, install them yourself. It's extremely straightforward. The only "hard" part about it is finding where all 58 screws for the front underbody panel go once you've taken it off.
