$700 for Lower Ball Joints??
This is the quote I got from a local Toyota dealership. About $350 for each side including labor and I believe the alignment as well. I was told that the ball joints and control arm were one piece I didn't think that was the case.
Does anyone else think that $700 is a little high? What have you guys been paying?

Well DUDE! LoL. You're wanting the dealer to do the work! Thats $98+ an hour! the ball joints I believe are about $150 a pair, alignment ~$89 plus what maybe 3 or 4 hours (high estimate) hours at roughly $98 an hour... pretty close. If you go somewhere else, I'm sure it would go down to like $300-$400 or maybe less.

Well the same place initially wanted $670 to replace an A/C Servo motor.
I got the part for $200, removed everything so all they had to do was pop it in. They installed it, then we realized another one was bad, so I got another one for $200 and let them install it and sew things up.
They wanted $670 to replace one motor
I had two replaced for $500... all because I did a little DIY. It's amazing how that works.
The funny thing though is if I wait a few more months and get another quote, it'll either be $450 or $800. They never give me the same prices.
I think these ball joints might be another DIY.
$130 for the pair
$12 for the Pit-Arm Puller
$70 for the Alignment
and $14.57 for a case of Coors Light(if it's on sale)

was under the assumption ANYTIME u messed with a major suspension part that it was needed as you cant put them back into correct alignment by just undoing them and putting them back in! i mean you are removing a major suspension piece here.....someone correct me if im wrong but i felt for the added security after i did my lower control arms i did a alignment for $65 especially since i have new tires!
