Clarification for SC400 and SC300 rear brake fitment
So I was riding home on the freeway around 3am when i noticed a weird sound coming out of the rear area....sounded like some sort of clunking. I thought that maybe my shock somehow got loose. So I immediately exited and to my surprise, the pedal went straight to the floor and I couldn't really stop. I ended up pulling the e brake and downshifted to second and I barely made it with my car halfway through the intersection (5spd FTW). Thank god no cars were around. So i limped to a nearby gas station to take a look, and to my amazement, my rear left caliper was completely off! The brake pads were still there but the caliper was just dangling. The bolts were gone...and I had no clue how this happened. Anyways, So i noticed that the caliper is leaking some brake fluid and i decided i want to change the unit completely and not get it rebuilt. So...I ran across a pair of 99 SC400 calipers pretty cheap and I would like to pick them up. My question is, I know they will bolt up, but can i use my existing brake pads and rotors? Cause both are almost brand new with like 800 miles on them and I dont want to shell out the extra money for another set if no need be.

ok, just went to buybrakes.com and apparently they have the same pads for a 92-00 SC300 and a 92-00 SC400. It looks like the only difference is the front.

The Rears of the TT and the V8 are the same caliper and pad
The JZZ30 TT Soarer front are different they have the bigger rotor and caliper the same as Supra JZA80 NA. The only difference between the JZA80 and TT Soarer was from factory the Supra had a more aggressive pad.
The JZZ30 TT Soarer rear are different they have the bigger rotor, but the caliper and pad stay the same as the UZZ31
UZZ31 Soarer 275mm 290mm
JZZ30 Soarer 296mm 307mm
JZA80 Supra NA 296mm 307mm

I understand you said that the caliper and pad are the same, but a different rotor. I need to use the existing rotor and pad...will this work?

Remember that not everything on that site is correct. Let me clarify a few things. The question is what do they mean by bigger brakes? Pads, rotors? Front or rear?
Brakepad Breakdown:
SC300
Fronts: 92-95, 96-98, 99-00 (Same as 92-00 SC400 pads)
Rears: 92-94, 95-98, 99-00 (Same as 92-00 SC400 pads)
SC400
Fronts: 92-00
Rears: 92-00
Rotor Breakdown:
SC300
Fronts: 92-98, 99-00 (same as 92-00 SC400 rotors)
Rears: 92-98, 99-00 (same as 95-00 SC400 rotors)
SC400
Fronts: 92-00
Rears: 92-94, 95-00
*This information is based on the msrp of each part.
I still do not see how the 99 SC400 got bigger brakes when they have the same sized rotors/pads prior to the model year. If anything, the 400 had an upgrade for the 95 model year. The SC300 was the one that received a brake upgrade in 1999. and it is possible that there was an error on the intellexual site.

And what you are reffering to are the fronts.....I am referring to the rears...I cannot say for sure what the case is for the fronts, but for the rears I am confident they will work not only because of the part numbers, but because they are on my car as we speak.
