Unhappy blown tein HA

i have a 2nd gen gs and my rear tein ha coilover blew out....i called tein said i would have to ship it out...i dont have anything to ride on I know this is gonna be hard but if anyone got a tein ha coilover laying around the rear driver side or a set of two coilovers tein ha or SS let me know i dont wanna have to buy all four for nothing.

how many miles were on ur HA's?

You can buy my old set of HA's for 650 instead of rebuilding your current ones

15k and they blow out already? were they rebuilt previously?
kind of disappointing if they blow out at 15k

Coilovers will blow prematurely if you crank them all the way down and set them to full stiff.

I have numerous friends that have gone trough the hassle of having relatively low millage Tien's go bad and have to be shipped in. From the sounds of it the issue may be more in the setup than in the actual product or design.

Either way seeing them go the same route as you looking for a loaner so they can still drive was plenty inspiration to ne to stick with Struts and Springs.

Good luck. Maybe you can rent a set from another member? Or maybe take you stock setup and cut the springs? Just thinking out loud.

hhmmmm, theoretically sounds right
however, as a consumer, i would think if a company is mfr'ing a product with a wide variety of options/settings, then it's product would maintain durability during all applications/settings...just me think aloud. also, keeping in mind, 15k is what many drive in 1 year's time...for a daily.

anyway, sorry back OT, GL OP and hope all works out for ya! maybe try to keep a full spare set of stockies for events like this.

Maybe that's why the HA were discontinued. Tein coilovers in general have a pretty bad design.
