Default Want to cut my tanabe df210's, only the fronts, need guidance!

I want to be about 1/2 inch lower in the front, how much of the spring should I cut to get that? What do you cut the springs with? Thanks

Although I can't offer anymore help than the suggestion to use a Sawzall with metal blade, I would agree--1/2" lower in the front would make it perfect.

IIRC (don't hold me to this) it's the top thats the dead coil. use a sawzall with a good metal cutting blade and make sure you measure three times before cutting haha. An incorrect cut will result in a really bad ride quality.

Not a fan of spring cutting over here. I would leave it if you're not gonna go coils or air. Looks good already.

+1 forgot to add that to my post. if you enjoy the probable bobblehead ride quality that usually accompanies cutting springs do it, but if at all avoidable grab coils and sell the springs/shocks

Look around to see if they have any 1/2" RCA spacers made for the GS (norm is 1"). That way you can lower the car 1/2" while adding little to no negative camber. Not to mention your spring rate will be the same.

not EXACTLY sure how much i cut..but id say..a good 3-4 coils all around..and yea..the ride quality wasnt that bad for the first month..then it jus blew..haha..so i would say..for stock shocks..its a temporary slammage..but if u got some good KYBs or bilsteins..they should last a lot longer

This is "GolfKid777's" old ride, now "The Prime Ministah's" ride. The car was on cut springs

"Tanabe DF-210 Springs with one dead coil cut"

"They are Tanabe DF 210 springs with one dead coil cut off each spring. Ride is super comfy until you hit a real big bump. "
