Thanks for the pics. I think alot of members were wondering about the Tein front STB over a GS430 engine w/ cover.

Does it touch/rub the cover at all? Did you have to modify anything?

Very nice and helpful pictures. That is some tight clearance on the engine cover. Does it contact at all?

It does require the rear tabs to be slightly bent down or away to allow for the clearance. It does clear with no rubbing, but I placed a thin strip of foam in between there in case it did rub that it would not take paint off.

Looks good. That is about how tight my Carson Tuned type one fits. Mine actually clears the drivers side but slightly touches the passenger side. Going to have to lower my engine cover by a few mm to gain full clearance. I'm still debating whether I should get the TEIN front and rear bar as well. I'm happy with mine, but the TEIN one does look nice as well.

PS. One thing, did you have to keep the stock strut mount spacers or did it fit like that with them removed? I had to keep mine on the Carson one.

The spacers are on there..I dont know if I would be able to clear the cover without the spacers, they give it just enough height.

thank you so much for this post, this is very helpful.
i finally found a strut bar that will clear the gs430 engine cover. i also have the same intake like yours so i know i won't have any issues with fitting as long as i purchase this type of strut bar.

I think you will still need more clearance.

When you rev the engine....or even with normal driving conditions...the engine will move....so the Tein stb will still rub on the engine cover....esp. if its already a tight fit when the engine is off.

looks great, but does it actually make a difference on the street. I was under the impression that the kind of chasis flex that the beace will reduce is only under extreme cornering

Thats interesting! I bought my Tein Front Bar 15 months ago and mine did not fit with the engine cover on my 01 430. When I called Tein they were no help and basically said to just live it. Hopefully they changed the height of the towers. Nice to know they fixed the problem.

OP had to modify the rear engine cover mounts so the Tein STB could fit....to my knowledge, they (Tein) did NOT fix the problem.
