For you guys with IS-F brakes... My car is on jack stands right now... What do you do about the rear splash guards? The rear IS-F brake rotors are too large for my IS350 splash guards... Did you guys just re-use the splash guards from the front of the vehicle? Please help ASAP!!

You can just "unroll" or flatten the lip at the edge of the dust shield or just cut it off.

I just bolted the new rotor to the hub with a lug nut and then used a screwdriver to push the guard back until it cleared the new rotor.

We found there just isn't an easy solution to this as to get the real IS-F dust shields on there, you'd have to pull the rear axle. It would have taken us an extra couple hours to install the rear shields as well, we didn't want to worry about damaging the rear bearings.

So as it stands, we have the original (cut) rear dust shields on our IS350 "Test Car".

Here is the quote from Darrel from the other thread. I think I'm going to do the "F-sport" method and just cut them.

Has anyone ever tried the ISF brakes without the ISF hubs?

Anyone know how wide is the is350 front caliper compared to the ISF front caliper?

^^^^I haven't measured, but I know the IS350 front caliper is a couple of mm's wider than the ISF front caliper. Original ISF wheels won't work on an IS350 without a 5mm spacer due to caliper interference.

Anyone seen that the new GS-F (probably the RC-F too) have 14.9" rotors? I wonder if this setup would work on a 2IS. Hmmm.

So I installed the rear ISF calipers on my car today and i had to buy longer studs and use a 8mm spacer. For anyone that has 18's wheels and plan on installing isf brakes you need to check your spacing. Im running 18x9.5 with a 25mm offset in the rear, so now with the 8mm spacer it went down to a 17mm and it finally cleared the caliper.

Did anyone that installed ISF brakes on a is250/350 feel the pedal different afterwards? It seems to go a bit lower than before. If so is that normal? Should I use thicker brake fluid? thanks..

There is no such thing as thicker brake fluid, and even if there were it wouldn't affect how the pedal feels. The change in pedal feel might be due to a bit of air in the system.

^^^^Yes, no such thing But, if it were air, you could pump the pedal and get the level to raise and feel firm.

Agreed, air in the lines. Did you flush the system while doing the brake swap or just did the calipers? Did you clamp off each brake line before removing each caliper?
