Review: F-Sport Springs/Shocks
IS 250 RWD with F-Sport Springs and Shocks
I swapped out the suspension components at around 1000 miles. I recently completed a trip from San Jose CA to Las Vegas as well as a weekend trip to Monterey with a jaunt down Highway 1 to Big Sur.
RIDE: The springs will give you a near stock ride at speeds below 40 MPH, but if you pay attention you will note the added firmness. The firmness is much more noticeable on bumpy roads and also as the speed increases. My GF didn’t notice the difference until I told her. On I-15 coming out of Barstow and heading for Las Vegas I thought the ride was very good with just a little added firmness that I thought translated into a little more control. I did notice some of the abrupt rising on large bumps taken at speed but that is the nature of the springs and higher damping rate shocks. I found the overall ride to be very good on the city streets of Henderson/Las Vegas.
HANDLING: In the quick turns on Highway 1 I could feel some body roll due to the progressive nature of the springs but the car would then set itself and all would be fine. The control level was much improved over the stock setup. On the fast sweeps through the Tehachapi’s I found the setup to work very well. I did notice some “wallow” over certain types of rougher terrain but that may be more of a steering issue than a suspension issue.
DROP: I found the drop to be just about perfect. I was surprised at how much better the car looked and handled with only a one inch drop?! I found the drop did not affect the day to day driving of the car so I was very happy with that.
OVERALL: I’m happy with my purchase, if not with the Lexus dealer for how much they charge, and feel that the added firmness in the ride is worth the added improvement in handling.

Hey thanks! I appreciate the time you took to post your review of the F-Sport springs & shocks and I found it very helpful.
What do you think about a rear sway next. ; )
Maybe some lighter wheels...with PS2s...
Maybe just an AMG emblem? LOL!

I drove over the Oakville Grade from Sonoma to Napa Saturday and I had a blast in this car with this setup! At least until I got behind some crappy Volvo from Zipcar. Let's just say that their Zipcar was missing a lot of Zip...

Gag!
You're going to make me relive that?! ; )
They did a great job but the entire deal cost me $1800 and I had to remind them that I bought the car from them and who my salesperson was.
I'm having fun with the setup though!

Thanks for sharing the painful dollar amount. I hope they gave you a bit of discount for being a loyal customer.
