sweet thanks for the writeup. Just finished my D2 coilover install a couple of hours ago. Probably the hardest part about the install was taking off the rear stock shocks =[.

use a big pry bar and an inertial blessed friend to stand on it and lower the spindle. if you have access to a lift then the whole job can be done on your own. i did mine on my own in my driveway...like 3 or 4 times already. lol. the easy way to take out the rears is to remove the top of the shock from the chassis and let it go up the rear fender a bit. then remove the bottom out of the control arm. and youre done

Oh and to adjust the coilover height you dont need to take out the 19mm bolt. Just get a rubber strap wrench and put it around the teflon threads of the coilovers and turn it counterclockwise to raise your car and clockwise to lower it

one thing that many people dont think of or over look when doing suspension work is the sway bar.
the rear drops out if you remove the 4 bolts that hold the sway bar to the chassis. that way it is not providing resistance when youre doing one side.
in the front it is easiest to remove both stock shocks at once and put on the new suspension together as well.

This is a good writeup and a contribution therefore I am not looking to insult your efforts. But the spring compressor is completely unnecessary (only if you are installing coilovers) and 7 hours is way to long. It took me 2 hours to complete not including adjusting height for the stance I was looking for. Between taking the wheels on/off to adjust height probably took me an extra 30 mins to achieve the stance I was looking for.

did it a couple days ago. WD-40 or any penetrating fluid helps and/or a breaker bar. i didnt have one so i just used an old "No Trespassing" sign lol. for the rear it helps to have a friend, preferably a husky one, to push down the hub while you try to put back the new coils. juss waiting for my vertex replica to get outta the paint shop then im gonna drop it as much as i can. great write up!
