I need your help...Im a bit confused on how to properly lower the car.As you know there 3 adjustments and im not sure if Im making the proper adjustments..There are 2 collars, 1 the spring sits on and the locking collar underneath it.Then there is the threaded shock body that is adjustable that the 2 collars are located on.My question is , do I adjust the shock body up to lower the car or down?And do I just move the 2 collars to add preload to the spring??Any help is greatly appreciated..

uhm, do you have the hks instruction the coilovers came with? you adjust the collars at the bottom of the spring (the locking and adjusting collars). lefty/loosey = lower, righty/tighty = raise.

to adjust the dampening, use the provided tool to adjust at top of each strut.

I appreciate the response but the RS (I think) are different.the collars on the LS are on an adjustable tube that can be adjusted because the shock body is threaded.I dont have instructions because I got the coils second hand and HKS usa doesn't answer the phone or emails..

though i could be wrong, i always thought the coilover system 'concept' was identical for all mfr's? anyway, if you have 2 sets of collars, adjust the lowest set for height.
regarding hks contact, leave them a message. it took them about 1 week before i got a pdf copy of my RS instructions.

i have the LS but i could have sworn they werent full length adjustable and just a threaded collar...but man would they be nice if they were.

Yes you can adjust them by making the shock longer or shorter and not interfere with the springload.Im not 100% sure which direction to adjust the shock body to make the car lower or higher..

To lower your car you must twist the shock body to where it looks like the entire strut is getting longer (showing more thread). I know this because a few friends and I recently put a set of HKS Hypermax III's on my girlfriends Honda Fit. At first we were a little confused, until we realized that the entire shock body twists. Its a pain in the @ss to adjust. You put the suspention together, put wheels on, put car on the ground, check your height, then reverse the process if its not low enough. We did it like 3 or 4 times to the Fit to finally get all sides even and at the proper height. Hope this helps you out, bro!
