How long do the redesigned (2001+) ball joints last?
So I am about to do a DIY on the lower ball joints on my GS400.
I am putting in the redesigned 2001+ newer, better ball joints.
How much life (XX,000 miles) can I expect out of them (ballpark)?

An alignment is needed anytime you change the geometry of the suspension. If there is no vertical play on the ball joints, then there should theoretically be no change in geometry.
I replaced my joints without an alignment and after a few thousands of miles, my tires still looks great with no irregular wear.

I've got an 01' and mine lasted till about 125k before I could tell it needed to be changed. I only had to change the passenger side. The driver's side was replaced previously due to an accident.
