Question Soarer - Supra compatible suspension parts questions. Please help.

Hi all,
i've got a jdm toyota soarer 4L uzz31 with airbag suspension and am considering the replacement options for front and rear control arms.

Searching through the forum I saw that its a normal practice to get mkiv supras front lower and upper control arms for sc400 cars. The problem is I am not quite sure that sc400 control arms are the same as soarers with airbags. It looks alike on the pics but who knows... And I dont know anything about possible interchange for rear suspension components (upper control arm).

Could anyone please clarify the question?

If it helps my factory suspension numbers are:

48610-29045 - front upper control arm (R)
48068-29165 - front lower control arm (R)
48770-24020 - rear upper control arm (R)

Thanks in advance.

nb pardon my english... and greetings from russia

Ive read that the MKIII upper control arms are interchangeable but not MKIV, there is a forum on here but I can't find the link. If anyone else knows that'd be great

thanks for the answers. got one more. is lexus sc400 rear upper control arm interchangeble with airbag soarers uzz31 rear upper control arm?

upper control arm for uzz31 soarer is 48770-24020 and costs 320$
and the sc400 rear upper control arm is 48770-19025 and cost 180$ which is quite cheap, but i am not sure...

update:
just saw that sc400 has the option of 48770-24020 control arm but for the 04/1991 - 01/1994 production years, and the 48770-19025 for 95+ sc400. I assume that if one can install the 48770-19025 on a say 92' sc400 so can I. or am I wrong?

I do not think the 1995 model will fit in 1992-1994, based on factory parts list that shows 48770-24020 for 9104-9401, and 48770-19025 for 9401 forward. Also, the 48770-24020 has been replaced by 48770-24050 , whereas the 48770-19025 has no replacement part. ie, if it could have been replaced by 48770-24050, it should have been. Dimensions may be the same, but the strength of the part or the bushings may be different for whatever reasons.

The new part number of 48770-24050 has Lexus MSRP of $314.07, internet price of $251.26 at Discount Toyota Parts BUT the same part number as a Toyota part is available for $176.75 MSRP or internet price of $132.56.

1995 Model had "Slight suspension and steering retuning." according to intellexual.net FAQ for SC 400/300 models.

From the part numbers provided in the first post...

Upper/Lower control arms can be interchanged between SC from 92-00. Yes there are probably slight differences in the arms such as the material and bushings, but they should physically fit.

As for MKIV Supra arms, only the lower control arms can be used on 92-00 SC.
Although, "48770-24020 - rear upper control arm (R)" from an SC is shared with another vehicle from the Toyota catalog (probably Supra), it can be found alot cheaper from Toyota as mentioned by evans92.

I just got into a accident and they vaguely told me I may need some new controls arms. So I have a question

The damaged area is the driver side rear (tire kinda bent in) So what part number for the control arm should I order from Toyota exactly? Thanks so much in advance, I'm stressing out a bit.

The customer rarely knows the part number for the part they are looking for. Sometimes I don't even know the name of the part I am looking for. So I just point it out in the general area on their computer.
