I'm looking into doing this and am wondering why the sleeves need to be cut. Can someone please explain this?

Since the car is lower and the springs/shocks, need to travel more up and down, the bump stops need to be shorter so you're not always bouncing off of them.

I have one question for all of you who have installed this setup...what did you do about dust boots? do these do alright without any installed, seems a little vulnerable to me.
