Default Should my tie rod ends rotate freely by hand?

I am able to rotate my outer tie rod ends manually .... Is this normal?
If not can i just tighten them up? Or does this indicate part failure?
-Thanks

are you talking the ball joints on the outer tie rod or are you talking the outer tie rod itself connecting on the inner tie rod shaft.

if you are talking about the ball joint you should not be able to move it with you hand. I just replaced mine because of this.

If you are talking the whole arm it is not supposed to turn on the rod. You will need to tighten it. There is a certain distance that they are supposed to be and I would have to look it up...it is in the FSM.

Thanks for the info, i appreciate it.
It was only by accident that i noticed the movement.
I was just blindly reaching and grabbing it and moving it....And I just assumed it was the threaded side of the rod end i was rotating. But i think youre right ..... It probably is the BJs??
I'll jack it up and get a closer look later on today.
-Thanks again
