Default ride comfort

first off i have a 92 SC400..."blown/ leaking stock shocks"

found some "good" shocks and springs off a JDM Supra clip front and rear(freebie)
- Yellow toyota shocks and blue springs

installed them, and the ride is very noticably more sporty, feel all the bumps, ride is a little harsh, and CD player is skippping like crazy. Also noticed the rear spring for the SC is different from the rear of the Supra.
They dropped the car about an inch if not more...looks killer!!!

but it's too sporty for me for daily driving almost 70 miles to and from work.
I like the look but not the ride....
what are ppl using for shocks for stock springs???

recomendations?

Thanks,
Kareem

man if you cant handle those dont ever get coilovers. i have tokico/eibach combo and it still feels like riding a couch.

oh btw: your cd player skips because its old(that is if you are referring to your factory 12 disk changer)

i have my suspension on it and even going over RR tracks my alpine never skips.

I have Tokico/Espelir... I'd rate it 6.5 out 10.

I want Tein CS but it's damn expensive.

If you cant handle the OEM Supra ones, I wouldnt bother with trying anything else. Only thing that MAY be close to stock is KYB/Eibach. but thats pushing it.

If you want OEM SC400 ones, pm me.

generally yes but you can get coils that can be pretty comfortable....but suck for the track. meaning they suck overall

does anyone use stock springs with after market shocks???

looking for a smoother ride than what i have now.

the car is pretty low, i'll take some pics tonight, and show the difference from stock to now. i think if i pick up the front a little it will help, looks so low!!! i have a set of eibachs too, but they looked even shorter than the blue spring, and way shorter than the stock spring.

shorter spring do not necessarily mean smoother ride. if the shock and spring are "engineered" to work together properly then you can have a smooth ride with a low ride-height.

are they supra eibach springs or sc eibach springs?

i have eibachs with tokico shocks and they dropped the car only an inch from stock. supra stock spring/shocks drop the car as much if not a bit more.

see the front is very low. it's on supra eibachs on front and supra stock? on the rear.

what ever these blue springs are. they are shorter in resting position than stock pic is comparison of front stock with some blue spring for Supra

i'll go back to stock for the better ride, if i have to...just looking for that floating feeling again.

i honestly dont think its too low if its too low, you can just put supra tt stock springs on the front.

on my way home every day there is a dip in the freeway, i hit it at 75 80 and the front wheel will rub the fender liner every time...i'm going to put the Supra TT springs on the front and see if this remedies the "bounce" i'm getting on the highway.

might even go back to stock all 4 corners

if you go back to stock i would be interested in your current supra shocks and the eibach springs.

Chrono, just curious, what is it with the basics that you don't like? Does it suck on track or is it just too stiff for daily driving? I can live with it if it sucks on track because i wont take my car to the track anyway. Just want info on easy everyday driving. I'm one of those who want a lowered car but want to keep riding on a couch. Thanks.
